There is a man who graduated high school, college, and taught high school English and Social Studies for 19 years all without knowing how to read.

His name is John Corcoran, and today he is an American author. Until he was 48, his reading comprehension was only about that of a second grade level. He wasn’t discovered throughout his entire education and 29 years of his career.

Because he was one of six children, his parents were too overwhelmed to notice he had trouble reading. At school, he was assigned to the “dumb row,” but because of other disciplinary issues, teachers often forgot about his reading difficulties. He attended two junior colleges after graduating high school, and eventually went to and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso.

He managed a bachelor’s degree in Education and Business administration thanks to his athletic scholarship and aggressive cheating. For his first job as a high school teacher, Corcoran had his students write their names on a seating chart and pronounce them for him daily.

Because his literacy had only fallen since second grade, he couldn’t even tell one name from the next. After 17 years of teaching, followed by ten years as a real estate developer, he decided it was time to learn to read. Since then, he has become a spokesman for literacy programs and has even started his own foundation devoted to reading.

So far, there are six Rocky movies all written by and starring Sylvester Stallone. Rocky Balboa was the last of the six films and takes place thirty years after the original Rocky, which makes it take place around 2005 or 2006. 

In the first film, Rocky is 30 years old, making him born in 1945. In the final film, Rocky’s age is never specifically given, but he is meant to be around 60 years old.

The turtles, Cuff and Link, and were introduced in Rocky, where they were played by the same two actual turtles that play them in Rocky Balboa. Their significance to the Rocky mythos is that they formed the basis of the first bad joke which Rocky tells Adrian in Rocky. 

They were their own special addition to the films. In the last film, Rocky only agrees to fight to prove something to himself and because he felt he had one last fight in him. The Rocky franchise is now officially over.

A teen is facing 38 years in prison for changing his grades.

Two high school seniors, Omar Khan and Tanvir Singh broke into their high school, Tesoro High School, in order to change their grades. Omar Khan who is being charged with 69 felonies could get up to 38 years in prison, while Singh with many fewer counts could get up to 3 years of prison time.

Khan is a repeat offender, and is being charged for altering and stealing public records, computer fraud, burglary, identify theft and receiving stolen property and conspiracy.  Singh was unfortunate to get caught on a try with Khan.

Khan allegedly hacked into the school system and repeatedly changed his grades. He got caught after he asked for a transcript. Teachers knew him as an average student, so they became suspicious when he suddenly had all As. 

In the process Singh was also caught. He asked Khan's help in stealing a copy of a test that he hadn't studied for. He hadn't done the readings necessary and he decided to steal the test the night before.
