Bob Marley’s last words were ‘Money can’t buy life.’

Bob Marley’s last concert was on September 23rd in 1980. Marley was dying of cancer and his tour after that date had to be cancelled. Marley was treated in Josef Issels’ Bavarian clinic. His treatment was an atypical treatment that simply involved avoiding eating certain foods and drinks.

The treatment was unsuccessful, so Marley flew to Jamaica to spend his last days at home. Marley never made it to Jamaica, instead stopping in Florida in serious condition. He was admitted to the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami. The melanoma had spread to his lungs and brain. His son, Ziggy, was with Marley at the hospital.

Marley’s last words were to his son, telling him that ‘money can’t buy life.’ Marley died May 11th, 1981 at only 36 years of age. He did accomplish a lot in his 36 years. He popularized reggae music, and rose out of a third world country to be a star!

Bob Marley’s Exodus was named the best album of the 20th century by Time’s Magazine. Despite his short life, he is globally recognizable and his music remains as a reminder of his life and talent.

Dolphins can’t breathe automatically.

Dolphins can’t breathe automatically.

Due to this limitation, dolphins sleep with their blowholes above the water surface. They also sleep with only 1/2 of their brain at a time, and take turns sleeping with different sides of their brains.

Half of the brain remains awake so that the dolphin remembers to breathe. As a result, dolphins cannot receive anesthetics or else they’ll stop breathing and whatever medical procedure they were undergoing would go to waste.

So the next time you’re at Sea World watching a dolphin show, give that guy an extra loud applause because he/she is able to do all the awesome stuff while remembering to breathe, and you probably don’t even remember where you parked your car.
